Incentive Program for 2013The Camp Mt. Hermon Board of Trustees works hard to find a balance between providing affordable Christian camps to children and continuing to keep up with the operations of camp. With this in mind, the Incentive Program has changed from years past. Please take note and be sure to include your Incentive Form with your Registration and Health Form:
Friend Incentive -- Bring a friend or friends who have never been to camp and each camper (past camper and new camper) will receive $10 off your camp fee. (Example: If a camper brings two friends to camp whom have never been, the camper and each of the two friends each receive $10 off their registration fee.)
Early Registration Incentive -- Postmark or have direct contact with your camp director at least 2 weeks before your camp starts regarding your attendance and you will receive $10 off your camp fee.
Family Incentive -- First child in the family pays full price, and each child after that receives $10 off camp fee. (Example: With 4 children in a family attending summer weeklong camps, child attending the first camp pays full fee, each sibling thereafter pays their cost of camp with a $10 discount.)

Come Along With Me will be May 31 - June 2, 2013!Camp Mt. Hermon is excited to announce that the Come Along With Me Weekend Camp will be offered again and has become an exciting new tradition! It will take place at the beginning of June again this summer. Mark your calendars now, as this is a weekend not to be missed! Director of the camp, Dalene Ward, says, 'It is a chance for children to spend quality time with an adult in their life.' Come Along With Me Weekend Camp is for children who have finished kindergarten through 2nd grade and an adult over 21 who would like to accompany them. It is a time that the child and adult can worship, learn, play and work together. For more information you can email Dalene at daleneward5555@gmail.com.
2013 Senior High Weekend Peace RetreatIn 1948, from June 24-July 4, Dan West (Founder of Heifer International) led a Peace Institute at Camp Mt. Hermon near Tonganoxie, Ks., and we are doing it again for the 3rd time!!! We invite all youth/young adults from High School through 22 years of age (College) to come to this historic Peace retreat! Facilitated by On Earth Peace and the Congregational Resourcing Vision Fulfillment Team of the Western Plains District Church of the Brethren, as well as directed by Joanna Smith, Western Plains District Peace Advocate, this retreat will be held from August 9 - 11, 2013.
Come...encounter the Divine Creator face to face in the beautiful hills and plains of Eastern Kansas! Expand your way of thinking! Come and learn how to be a light in the darkness of a militaristic/violent society while still holding to the peace taught by Jesus Christ. Our Mission is to raise up a new generation of peacemakers. Courageous individuals who want to learn what it means to live at peace with all creation, to practice non violence and reconciliation in their daily walk and to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
This years theme: "A heart of peace gives life to the body" is based on Proverbs 14:30.
Invite your friends, neighbors and youth groups to come and experience a mind challenging and fun weekend in a natural Kansas setting. Bring your sleeping bags and bug spray!! More information will be coming soon!!

Camp Offering ProjectThis year the campers in the Western Plains District have an opportunity to help hundreds of adults and children in Haiti who desperately need health care. They can bring their offering/donation to camp with them to contribute to the Haiti Medical Project, founded by our own district's Paul Ullom-Minnich, MD.
The Haiti Medical Project financially supports and sponsors temporary and mobile health clinics in rural communities of Haiti. Each clinic can meet the medical needs of more than 350 people per day with as little as $7 per patient. The Haiti Medical Project is now working on raising funds, especially for an endowment, so that the clinics can be self-sustaining. The Church of the Brethren has been a loyal supporter and donor since the Haiti Medical Project’s establishment in 2010, after the devastating earthquake in Haiti.
Campers will be given information about this project and an opportunity to give their offering/donation to help the people of Haiti.
