Camp Mt. Hermon Mission Statement

As part of the Church of the Brethren’s Western Plains District, Camp Mt. Hermon is striving to provide a setting for simple living, appreciation of nature, and spiritual and personal growth, while preserving and caring for God’s creation.

This summer's registrations are now available for download. Health forms and Incentive forms are also available. Take advantage of the summer incentives that are available, but please note that summer incentives are not applicable for the Come Along With Me Weekend Camp or Family Camp.


2008 Camp Directors Announced

New to directing, Bridget Thornbrugh, from Ottawa, will be directing Senior High Camp (Grades 9-12) which takes place from June 8-14. Ken Davidson of Mont Ida & Jim Therrien of Independence will be share the load by co-directing Junior High Camp (Grades 7-8) during the first week of the summer camping season, from June 1-7. Veteran directors, Ed Switzer & Marlo Oltman, both of Hutchinson, will continue their tradition at Junior Camp (Grades 5-6) which is from June 15-21. Gloria Price is from Independence and definitely not new to directing, but will make a change from Senior High to Pre-Junior Camp (Grades 3-4) this year. The Pre-Junior Camp (Grades 3-4) will take place from June 22-26. The last camp during the month of June is the Come Along With Me Weekend (Grades Kindergarten-2 with an adult over 21), in which Dalene Ward from Lincoln, will direct again. It takes place from June 27-29.


Camps happening later in the summer are Sonja Griffith's Senior High Weekend (Grades 9-12) that is scheduled for August 8-10 and Family Camp (All families welcome), again sponsored by the Mont Ida Congregation will be August 29-31.


New Camp Coming This Fall: Youth Worker Retreat!

Do you ever feel like you don’t have time at gatherings or church to develop your own faith because you are taking care of your youth? Do you ever wish you could have a support system of other youth workers who understand you? Do you ever wish you could get new ideas or bounce your ideas off other people? Good news! You’re in luck, because we’ve designed a weekend to do all of these things! Renew your own faith! Form relationships with other youth workers! Attend workshops to enrich your job as a youth worker! Share your ideas and get new ideas from others! Key presenters will be Shawn Flory-Replogle and Cheryl Mischler. Lois Grummert and Jennifer Jensen are coordinating the retreat which will take place from the evening of Friday, September 19 through the afternoon of Saturday, September 20! 2008 Family Camp Date Announced

Family Camp will be directed again this year by the Mont Ida Congregation and will take place August 29-31. This year's theme will be: "Being Stewards of ALL God's Creation" and based upon Psalm 24:1. Main sessions will be led by John Doran, George Eisele, and Sonja Griffith. More information will be coming soon!


Come Along With Me Camp a Success in 2007!

Camp Mt. Hermon is proud to announce that the Come Along With Me Weekend Camp will be offered again during the 2008 camping season! Director of the camp, Dalene Ward, said, “It is a chance for children to spend quality time with an adult in their life.” Come Along With Me Weekend Camp will be for children who have finished kindergarten through 2nd grade and an adult over 21 who would like to accompany them. It is a time that the child and adult can worship, learn, play and work together. Get $25 Off Your Registration Fee!

Take advantage of the Summer Incentive for Early Registration. Get your registration postmarked to the director at least 2 weeks before your camp and receive $25 off your camp fee. Rental Information

Camp Mt. Hermon is located twenty miles west of Kansas Speedway and is open for RV Rental and full camp rental. Rentals are available during the Nascar race weekend of September 27-28 and is only a short 20 minute drive to the speedway. Other dates are available to rent the camp or an RV space for summer camps, family reunions, or just a place to get away for a while. Guidelines do apply. Read more about what Camp Mt.
